Nolan Ryan Endorses J Allen Carnes for Texas Agriculture Commissioner
AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Texas baseball legend Nolan Ryan today announced he is endorsing J Allen Carnes in the race for Texas Agriculture Commissioner.

The Hall of Fame pitcher, who in the past has considered running for the office himself, praised Carnes as a strong conservative voice for farmers and ranchers.

Texas voters will soon hear Ryan making the pitch for Carnes in campaign ads across the state.
Carnes, a Republican, is the former president of the Texas Vegetable Association and former director of the Texas Produce Association. He is also endorsed by Texas Farm Bureau (AGFUND), Beef-PAC of Texas Cattle Feeders Association, Corn Producers Association of Texas, Texas Citrus Mutual, Texas International Produce Association, Texas Grain Sorghum Producers Association, Texas Wildlife Association (TWAPAC), Texas Wheat Producers Association PAC, The Texas Vegetable Association, the Texas Olive Oil Council, and the Texas Rice Producers Legislative Group.
Early voting for the March 4 Republican Primary is February 18-28, 2014.
