Becker Professional Education Aligns with Department of Defense to Offer Select CPA and CPE Courses to Fulfill the DoD Financial Management Certification Requirements
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Becker Professional Education, a global leader in professional education and a part of DeVry Education Group, today announced that select Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) courses offered by Becker are now aligned with the Department of Defense (DoD) Financial Management (FM) certification program as confirmed by the DoD, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense Comptroller. Becker’s CPA Exam Review and CPE courses align with 15 of the 17 DoD FM competencies*.
“We are pleased that our CPA and CPE courses meet the competencies required for financial managers to effectively achieve their certification”
The DoD FM certification program was designed to increase the capabilities of the current financial management workforce by establishing a standard framework of knowledge and skills throughout the department while simultaneously ensuring that employees fulfill specific training requirements. This competency-based program is mandatory for all DoD financial managers. There are three levels of the certification, each with varying requirements based on the scope of the position. In addition to the online courses created by the DoD, DoD FM employees now have the option of taking Becker courses to earn credits toward their level one, two or three requirements for certification. Those interested can choose to enroll in the full CPA Exam Review or select CPA or CPE courses to earn credit towards their competencies.
“We are pleased that our CPA and CPE courses meet the competencies required for financial managers to effectively achieve their certification,” said John Roselli, president of Becker Professional Education. “This alignment opens up new avenues of learning and leadership for financial managers pursuing all three levels of their certification requirements. We are committed to providing the financial management workforce with the educational tools necessary to succeed.”
Upon completion of the certification program, financial managers are expected to accrue a number of Continued Education and Training (CET) credits based on the certification level. DoD FM employees can attain their credits through Becker’s comprehensive CPE course catalog, which meets 100 percent of the CET credits needed to maintain DoD FM certification.
Becker’s CPA Exam Review and Continuing Professional Education course offerings can be viewed by DoD personnel on the DoD FMOnline training site under “FM MyLearn”. For additional information, also visit becker.com.
