MultiTable Is Good for the Heart
Companywide "Wear Red" campaign raises awareness of heart disease in women
PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MultiTable, an industry leader of healthy options for the workplace, including height adjustable desks, tables and workstations, has long touted the health benefits of an active lifestyle. They've taken their mission of health to a new level as they join forces with the American Heart Association to bring support and awareness to the critical issue of heart disease in women.
“If we can help bring awareness to this important cause, and even one woman's life is saved, then it's well worth our efforts.”
Heart disease continues to be the No. 1 killer of women in the U.S. The deadly disease claims more lives each year than all types of cancers combined, killing more than 1,000 women every day.
"We've always focused on the health aspects of our height adjustable tables," said MultiTable President Drew De Weerd. "Supporting the American Heart Association in their goal to save lives through the National Wear Red campaign is a natural progression of our health mission. That's why we have encouraged our staff to help raise awareness of heart disease in women by wearing red on National Wear Red Day."
Not only did MultiTable issue a companywide goal to have every employee wear red for National Wear Red day, they also encouraged their customers to join them in their mission. "We've asked all of our customers to join us by wearing red on National Wear Red Day," continues De Weerd. "If we can help bring awareness to this important cause, and even one woman's life is saved, then it's well worth our efforts."
Physical inactivity, most commonly sitting, contributes to numerous physical and mental health problems and is responsible for an estimated 200,000 deaths per year. Periodically standing during the day can significantly decrease health risks for both heart disease and cancers.
