NCS Energy Services Showcases Success in Permian Basin with Arrington Oil & Gas
Results of comparison of Multistage Unlimited technology with traditional PnP in Bone Spring Sandstone shows superior frac efficiency
THE WOODLANDS, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NCS Energy Services, an independent technology and services company specializing in multistage completions, today announced the results of a case study comparison by Arrington Oil & Gas of the NCS Multistage UnlimitedTM coiled-tubing-deployed frac-isolation system with the traditional plug-and-perforate (PnP) method. The results demonstrate greater production and efficiencies with the multistage technology. A presentation of the findings was made this morning at the SPE Hydraulic Fracturing Technology Conference in The Woodlands.
“Arrington’s success creates a win-win for them, their investors, our technology and the industry as a whole. This comparison study confirms the advantages of our coiled-tubing-deployed completion system.”
The comparison of completions using NCS’s proprietary multistage technology and PnP is a case study of wells in the Bone Spring sandstone in the Permian Basin of West Texas.
Conclusions of the completion methodology comparison are that Multistage Unlimited technology:
- Enables operators to achieve a more efficient field fracture network (better reservoir connectivity), resulting in improved production.
- Uses cemented casing sleeves and single-point injection for control over stage spacing and propped volume.
- Offers numerous operational advantages.
Arturo Carrasco, Arrington Oil & Gas operations manager, commented that production from the cemented sleeves completion was significantly higher than that from the PnP completions. “In addition to improved production, there were several additional operational benefits, including the ability to control the fracture process by adjusting fluid viscosity, proppant concentration, and pump rates in real time.”
“Our goal is to help operators maximize production, efficiency, and effectiveness,” said Joe DeGeare, NCS vice president of Sales and Operations. “Arrington’s success creates a win-win for them, their investors, our technology and the industry as a whole. This comparison study confirms the advantages of our coiled-tubing-deployed completion system.”
