BidClerk 4th Quarter 2013 Data Shows $5.5 Billion in Construction Contract Opportunities in Texas Major Markets
CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--For Texas major metro markets, 4th quarter 2103 BidClerk data showed a year-over-year increase of 31.2% for new actively bidding construction projects, compared to a 4.5% increase in activity for the same period last year. Private projects increased 8.9% in the 4th quarter 2013, in a year-over-year comparison. Total contract values in Texas topped out at $5.5 billion in the 4th quarter of 2013. Overall, in 2013 BidClerk reported on more than 8,500 actively bidding opportunities in Texas, totaling over $23 billion for 2013.
For the city of Houston, total contract value for Houston in 2013 was $7.1 billion. Overall, in 2013 BidClerk reported on more than 3,000 actively bidding opportunities in Houston. BidClerk’s 4th quarter 2013 data showed a year-over-year increase of 29.8% for new actively bidding construction projects. Total 4th quarter contract value for Houston was $2.0 billion.
