RENO, Nev.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--School choice supporters in Reno will screen a new documentary film and host a roundtable discussion about the need for increased education options in Nevada on January 28, organizers announced today.
“The Ticket: The Many Faces of School Choice”
The event, which is hosted by Nevada Policy Research Institute and The LIBRE Initiative, will be held at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Snows Parish Center, 1200 S. Arlington Ave., Reno 89509. It is timed to coincide with National School Choice Week 2014, the nation’s largest-ever celebration of educational opportunity.
The event will feature a screening of the 38-minute film, “The Ticket: The Many Faces of School Choice,” a new documentary by award-winning filmmaker Bob Bowdon.
The film highlights the changes in the school choice landscape across the country – which has transformed from a collection of individual factions to a movement rallying around empowering all parents with the freedom to decide the right educational choices for their children. It examines school choice options in Los Angeles, Topeka, Kansas City, Chicago, Cleveland, Exton, Pa. and Rochester, NY.
In addition to Bowdon, speakers at the roundtable discussion will include Kelley Radow, Lobbyist for Nevada Homeschool Network and ParentalRights.org and Frank Schnorbus, Chairman of the Nevada Homeschool Network. The roundtable will be moderated by Dan Mason, host of the Dan Mason Show on KKOH. An additional panelist will be announced in the upcoming days.
