--(BUSINESS WIRE)--eZono AG, a private German corporation, develops and markets tablet style ultrasound systems for emerging markets like regional anaesthesia and emergency care. The company was founded in July 2004 in Jena/Germany with the goal to make ultrasound easy to use for emerging applications like regional anaesthesia and emergency care.

The first generation product, eZono 3000, was introduced in 2009 and includes CueCards besides a touch screen graphical user interface. Cue Cards are built-in and downloadable multimedia apps which help to accelerate the learning curve of users for a variety of medical procedures. As the next step, eZono will introduce its novel needle guidance technology, which pinpoints the position of a standard needle around the ultrasound probe and in the image. The technology does not require a sensor in the needle or a special needle and thus means less pain for the patient and less cost for the hospital.

eZono gained CE approval for the eZono 3000 platform in May 2009 and FDA 510k in July 2011. The product is currently sold in more than 30 countries globally.
