The TJX Companies, Inc. Reports May 2000 Sales

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 1, 2000--The TJX Companies, Inc. (NYSE:TJX) today reported May 2000 sales results. Sales for the four week period ended May 27, 2000 were $741 million, up 9% over $681 million achieved during the four week period ended May 29, 1999. For the seventeen weeks ended May 27, 2000, sales reached $2,848 million, an increase of 9% over last year's $2,611 million. Consolidated comparable store sales for the four week period ended May 27, 2000 increased 3% over last year. For the seventeen week year-to-date period, consolidated comparable store sales increased 3% over last year.
