The TJX Companies, Inc. Reports January 2000 Sales

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--()--Feb. 3, 2000--The TJX Companies, Inc. (NYSE:TJX) today reported January 2000 sales results. Sales for the four week period ended January 29, 2000 were $478 million up 11% over $432 million achieved during the four week period ended January 30, 1999. For the 52 weeks ended January 29, 2000, sales reached $8,795 million, an increase of 11% over last year's $7,949 million. Consolidated comparable store sales for the four week period ended January 29, 2000 increased 4% over last year. For the 52 week year-to-date period, consolidated comparable store sales increased 5%.
