Peter Maich has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Group Executive, The TJX Companies, Inc. Mr. Maich (52) has served as Executive Vice President, Merchandising, The Marmaxx Group (the combined entity of T.J. Maxx and Marshalls) since 1995. Having joined the Company in 1985, Mr. Maich has held several senior merchandising and operations positions including President of T.J. Maxx. In his new role, Mr. Maich will assume responsibility for Winners Apparel, Ltd., HomeGoods, A.J. Wright, corporate marketing and the European buying office. Mr. Maich will report to Edmond (Ted) English, President and Chief Operating Officer of The TJX Companies in his new post.
Arnold Barron has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, The Marmaxx Group from Senior Vice President, Group Executive, The TJX Companies, Inc., a position he has held since 1996. Mr. Barron (52) has a 21-year tenure with TJX, joining the firm in 1979 as Director of Stores for T.J. Maxx. Since that time he has held several store operations and merchandising positions for T.J. Maxx. Mr. Barron will be responsible for store operations, distribution services, human resources, finance and systems at The Marmaxx Group and will report to Richard Lesser, TJX Executive Vice President and President of The Marmaxx Group.
Carol Meyrowitz has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Merchandising, The Marmaxx Group from Senior Vice President of the same group, a position she has held since 1999, when she re-joined the Company. Prior to that, Ms. Meyrowitz (45) held the senior merchandising post at Chadwick's of Boston, a division previously owned by TJX. In her new role, Ms. Meyrowitz will be responsible for all merchandising, planning and allocation for Marmaxx and will report to Richard Lesser, TJX Executive Vice President and President of The Marmaxx Group.
Jerome Rossi has been promoted to President of HomeGoods from Executive Vice President, Stores, Human Resources and Distribution Services, The Marmaxx Group, a position he has held since 1995. Mr. Rossi (56) joined TJX in 1995 with the acquisition of Marshalls, having been President and Chief Operating Officer of that company for five years. In his new post, Mr. Rossi will be responsible for spearheading the aggressive growth of HomeGoods, TJX's successful off-price home fashions business. Mr. Rossi will report to Peter Maich, TJX Executive Vice President.
