The TJX Companies, Inc. Reports October 1999 Sales

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--()--Nov. 4, 1999--The TJX Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TJX) today reported October 1999 sales results. Sales for the four week period ended October 30, 1999 were $713 million, up 10% over $651 million achieved during the four week period ended October 31, 1998. For the 39 weeks ended October 30, 1999, sales reached $6,308 million, an increase of 11% over last year's $5,666 million. Consolidated comparable store sales for the four week period ended October 30, 1999 increased 4% over last year. For the 39 week year-to-date period, consolidated comparable store sales increased 6%.
