Dr. Lévesque noted that “the need for mapping becomes paramount in improving outcomes through analytics and individual and population wellness monitoring.” Provided as web-based services, the VOC Terminology Engine incorporates lexical tools that provide language-sensitive lookup and matching. The engine currently supports English, French, and Spanish. Portuguese and Italian support is under consideration.
The VOC Terminology Engine has been integrated into the cloud-based Connected Wellness platform of NexJ Systems, in which the VOC engine enables the translation of many terms into a common vocabulary to enable the monitoring of events and activities to promote wellness in individuals.
The VOC Terminology Engine was developed by physicians and technologists who believe that the integration of standardized coded vocabularies for the healthcare continuum will result in more accurate, effective and efficient healthcare provision. Dr. Lévesque’s presentation can be seen on the IHTSDO website. To learn more about VOC Terminology Engine, visit us at www.vocterminology.com.
