Schrader Recognized with “Robertson County Chamber of Commerce Industry of the Year” Award
Ribbon-Cutting at Newly Expanded Facility in Springfield, Tennessee a Success
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Schrader, the leading global manufacturer of sensing and valve solutions, today announced that the company was recognized with the Robertson County Chamber of Commerce Industry of the Year Award on May 2, 2013 for their business contributions to the local Tennessee economy. The award was granted a day after a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of its newly expanded manufacturing facility in Springfield, Tennessee. This upgraded facility is the result of a $10 million capacity investment from Schrader, announced earlier this year.
“It is my pleasure to congratulate Schrader for winning the Robertson County Industry of the Year Award. Schrader has continued to foster economic opportunities for the community through the expansion of the Springfield facility, which is creating good jobs right here in Tennessee’s 6th District”
“It is my pleasure to congratulate Schrader for winning the Robertson County Industry of the Year Award. Schrader has continued to foster economic opportunities for the community through the expansion of the Springfield facility, which is creating good jobs right here in Tennessee’s 6th District,” said Rep. Diane Black.
The event was widely attended by local supporters of Schrader and the Springfield facility. In addition to U.S. Congresswoman Diane Black (R-TN), key staff from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, the Tennessee General Assembly, the Tennessee Valley Authority, Robertson County Mayor Howard Bradley and staff members from the offices of U.S. Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) and U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN) attended the event.
Hugh Charvat, President and CEO, also attended the event, along with additional members of Schrader’s management team. “We are honored and excited to accept this award. To us, it’s a clear indicator of the success and capabilities of our employees in Springfield, our leading technology and business growth, as well as the support we receive from the local Robertson County community. We are thrilled to continue to work with local officials within the community to spur and support economic growth through our commitment in the region.”
With this investment, Schrader has created 76 new, high-tech manufacturing jobs this year and will add approximately 100 additional positions in the coming year with a second, additional manufacturing line. This newly installed manufacturing line is a direct result of continued Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) volume growth amongst all domestic vehicle manufacturers, as well as an increased service and repair demand for replacement sensors in the automotive aftermarket. Schrader is currently the only global manufacturer of complete, vertically-integrated TPMS systems for the automotive industry.
