About SafeTest Protection Technology
SafeTest protection technology is founded on the combined strengths of Teradyne's patented UltraPin II digital pin electronics and built-in TestStation software features. This powerful combination of technologies permits accurate, reliable and safe powered-up testing of today's new low-voltage technologies, ensuring product quality and reducing overall costs. This is achieved through the reduction of false failures that lead to unnecessary rework and the elimination of voltage conditions that could lead to field failures, invalid warranties and liability costs.
SafeTest protection technology features:
-- UltraPin II - the most accurate ICT driver/sensor pin in the
industry for safe testing of low-voltage technologies
- Closed-loop drivers - capable of delivering accurate,
programmable voltage levels under backdrive and fault
conditions
- Backdrive current sensing - used to identify unreliable and
potentially harmful tests
- Programmable backdrive current and duration thresholds - to
enrich programmer control of backdrive currents and their
duration
- Automatic driver verification - to verify voltage thresholds
at each pin
- Per-pin programmable dual logic thresholds and timing
strobes - resulting in no test compromises due to tester
limitations
-- Specialized digital controller - to quickly execute test vectors
and minimize backdrive duration
-- Multi-level digital-isolation software - to prevent dangerous
voltage spikes
