Teradyne Celebrates Chung Yuan Christian University's 50-Year Anniversary; Test System Donation Creates New Educational Opportunities for Students

HSINCHU, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 11, 2005--Teradyne (NYSE:TER) announced its participation in Chung Yuan Christian University's 50th anniversary celebration. Chung Yuan is a leading, private-funded university located in Chung Li, Taiwan. In honor of the university's long-standing achievement in its engineering school, Teradyne donated a J750 test system (now being used as part of an IG-XL(TM) system design and in testing related courses offered by the university) and will work with the university in training undergraduate and graduate students on IG-XL software. The University funded and setup a standard test floor and lab for students after receiving the Teradyne test system donation. The Teradyne(R) IG-XL software operating system provides fast program development and instant conversion from single to multi-site device test for electronic manufacturers. In addition, Teradyne will be participating in joint training and research projects with the Electronic Engineering department and the Biomedical Engineering department at the university and will provide students the opportunity to work as interns or in a co-op program with Teradyne.
