KYEC Purchases Multiple Teradyne Handler Interface Board Changers

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 8, 2004--Teradyne, Inc. (NYSE:TER) announced King Yuan Electronics Co., LTD (KYEC), Taiwan's largest IC test house by revenue, has purchased multiple Handler Interface Board (HIB) Changers for use on their installed base of FLEX(TM) test systems. A Teradyne-patented design, the HIB Changer is a mechanical interface between the handler and test system that reduces operator set-up time, enabling improved operating efficiency. Often called "Operational Equipment Efficiency" (OEE), this is a significant metric that test subcontractors and other operators of test equipment are driven to improve. The HIB Changer from Teradyne provides a substantial advancement in this area, particularly where there is a high changeover rate of device types being tested.
