The open architecture design of the Ford Vehicle Measurement Module (VMM) will allow for integration with Ford's current, as well as future service diagnostic strategies. Its flexibility will provide the Ford service technician with a multitude of diagnostic procedures including:
-- Secondary ignition testing
-- Fuel pressure and leak down tests
-- Injector flow tests
-- Usage of a dual channel oscilloscope
-- Inject signals and test actuators
-- Guided diagnostics
Compared to the previous measurement tool, the VMM will offer the following enhancements:
-- Use with off the shelf user interface devices (e.g. PC)
-- Option to use wireless connectivity for the user interface device
-- Ability to capture more accurate test readings
This vehicle Instrumentation device is part of a complete Teradyne automotive diagnostic solution that consists of hardware, embedded system software and PC software designed to communicate with the vehicle system. The solution is based on a core of service diagnostic solutions developed by Teradyne Diagnostic Solutions.
