The National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI), an independent certifying agency, conducted an audit of Teradyne Connection Systems' environmental management systems at its Nashua connector manufacturing plant and issued the ISO 14001 certification in November 2001. The certification audits for the Cavan facility were conducted in December 2001. Teradyne's Dublin Ireland facility achieved the ISO 14001 standard in 1999.
Teradyne takes its commitment to the environment and quality seriously. Some 75 percent of all waste that is produced at the Cavan facility is either re-used or recycled. Environmental efforts in Nashua have focused on building improvements for energy efficiency as well as recycling of metals, plastic, and paper products.
"We are very proud of this accomplishment," said Tom Pursch, vice president, Teradyne Connection Systems. "ISO 14001 certification is a testimony to Teradyne's commitment to achieve operational excellence while minimizing our impact on the environment. We plan to extend these efforts through the ISO14001 certification process at our other manufacturing sites."
