Teradyne Number One in Customer Satisfaction in Memory Test; Results of VLSI Research 2001 Survey

AGOURA HILLS, Calif.--()--Nov. 7, 2001--VLSI Research Inc, of San Jose, CA., announces that Teradyne, Inc. has scored as the number one supplier of memory ATE in their Customer Satisfaction Survey on chip making equipment for the calendar year 2001.

VLSI Research surveys ATE users worldwide to determine how they value the equipment and their relationship with their suppliers. In responses from customers in Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Rest of Asia, Europe, and the U.S., customers reported their greatest overall satisfaction in the Memory Test Market was with Teradyne's products and people. The overall satisfaction rating is compiled by combining customer views on factors such as: product performance, uptime, software, process support, technical leadership, and overall commitment. Other companies competing with Teradyne were Advantest, Agilent Technologies, and Ando Electric. Companies must have minimum of eight responses across a minimum of four categories to be rated.

In what may be a related result, Teradyne also won the highest response in the category of "Willingness to Buy Again." Among customer comments in the survey were these: "They have on-site support and it is good." "Productivity is excellent." "High-Performance." "Tries to improve existing model with new ideas."

Teradyne won in 10 out of 13 categories, and in fact all customer service categories.

The survey is conducted annually. Respondents were from U.S., Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Singapore, China, and Europe.
