SANYO Selects Teradyne`s Catalyst as First SOC Test System

BOSTON--()--Oct. 8, 2001--Teradyne, Inc. (NYSE:TER) announced today SANYO Electric Co., Ltd. Semiconductor Company, System LSI Division, has purchased the Catalyst Test System for System-on-a-Chip (SOC) device test. SANYO's first SOC test system will be used to test a variety of devices including CD-RW, USB2.0 and LVDS used in PC peripherals. The SANYO SOC test system selection was based on a commitment to economical consumer integrated circuit (IC) production. Teradyne's Catalyst, the world's best selling SOC test system, is the original SOC test system providing industry leading test capabilities with the highest throughput enabling cost efficient device test.

"SANYO's roadmap of devices requires a test system with high digital pin-count, the highest digital test data rate that the Catalyst's Gazelle provides, as well as rich analog functions and options," said Mr. Fumihiro Dasai, General Manager, System LSI Division, SANYO. "Teradyne's Catalyst provides integrated analog and digital instrumentation required to test next-generation devices, while delivering the highest throughput in the SOC test system marketplace," concluded Mr.Dasai.
