Today, Teradyne, Inc. (NYSE: TER) announced that QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM) has ordered a second Catalyst SOC test system equipped with MicroWAVE6000(TM) instrumentation. The system will be installed at the San Diego engineering facility at the end of July, and is expected to significantly increase the rate of test program development for QUALCOMM's RF integrated circuit production.
Charlie Jones, director of RF/Analog Product/Test engineering at QUALCOMM said, "We continue working with Teradyne to develop engineering and high volume production test solutions for our power management and mixed-signal integrated circuit products. Teradyne's MicroWAVE6000 option enables development of test solutions for our mixed-signal products requiring baseband, IF and RF source/measure test capabilities. The Catalyst system plays a key role in our ability to continually meet aggressive test development challenges and meet our cost of test objectives without compromising on quality. As a result, QUALCOMM can offer our customers large quantities of high-performance devices at a competitive price. Having another Catalyst system on-site increases our capacity to develop test programs, speeding our time to market.

The MicroWAVE6000 instrumentation suite provides a complete range of RF/microwave test capabilities required for current and future wireless devices and communications standards. In addition, MicroWAVE6000 instrumentation can be added easily to Catalyst and A5 installed systems.
