"2000 was a great year for Teradyne, as it was for many technology companies", said George Chamillard, CEO and chairman of the company. "Since we won this same award in 1996, the competition has gotten even tougher. We are pleased that The Boston Globe has awarded us their #1 ranking again and we thank our customers and our employees, who made the award possible."
Companies listed in the Globe 100 were chosen from a group of Massachusetts-based businesses listed on the NASDAQ, New York Stock Exchange, or American Stock Exchange. Information was collected by Compustat which analyzed Securities and Exchange Commission filings, commercial news services, and corporate and government reports. The companies were ranked based on financial data for the four quarters ending closest to December 31, 2000 and for corresponding quarters a year earlier. Each company must have been public for all of 2000 and reported 2000 revenue of at least $25 million and not reported a loss in either 1999 or 2000.
