Teradyne Connection Systems Expands Assembly Capacity in Plano, Texas; Move to Larger Facility Meets Telecom, Datacom Demand for Fiber Optic Cable Assembly

NASHUA, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 20, 2000--Teradyne Connection Systems (NYSE: TER), a leading manufacturer of high-performance custom backplanes, high-speed/high-density interconnects, and complete electro-mechanical packaging subassemblies today announced that it has moved its Plano, Texas, operations group into a new 50,000 square foot facility to meet growing demand for its telecom and datacom rack assembly business.

The new facility, also in Plano, features a 10,000 square foot clean zone specifically designed for integrating fiber optic cable into telecom and datacom racks for such customers as Alcatel and Cisco Systems. A larger stockroom and shipping/receiving area accommodate the many components used in the manufacture of Alcatel and Cisco products.
