Teradyne Announces Radiata, Inc`s Selection of the Catalyst for New IEEE-802.11a `Wireless Engine` Testing

(NYSE: TER) announced today that Radiata, Inc., a privately held start-up company specializing in the business of delivering "wireless engines" for high performance multimedia wireless home and enterprise networks, has selected Teradyne's Catalyst test system as its preferred system for the testing of its first "wireless engine" based on the IEEE-802.11a standard. Radiata's "wireless engine" consists of two devices, the R-M11a COFDM modem, and the R-RF5 5 GHZ UNII Band Transceiver. Both of these devices are manufactured entirely in standard CMOS process technology. Radiata had recently demonstrated the full functionality of its IEEE-802.11a "wireless engine" at the Networld + Interop show in Atlanta, GA, on September 26-28th.
