"In today's competitive environment, by accessing ATS' Artesia System oil and gas solution suite via the ASP, companies save on internal software and hardware expenses, thereby reducing general and administrative (G&A) costs," said Bob Tretiak, president and CEO of ATS. "The ASP model also eliminates the distractions of managing complex information technology systems, allowing companies to focus instead on their core business activities."
Under the terms of the contract, ATS will be responsible for Range's operational, accounting, production and regulatory reporting. It will also manage transaction processing services, such as recording the sale of production, distributing receipts to outside interest owners and recording accounting entries on clients' books. In addition, ATS will work with operators and purchasers to ensure timely receipt and accurate disbursement of revenues from Range properties. As developers of the proprietary Artesia System, ATS is able to fully service the solution used to provide outsourcing services, giving Range immediate support and issue resolution. The ASP also acts as a low-cost alternative for achieving a high-tech data center by providing Range with monthly support, back-up, disaster recovery services and imaging.
Solutions from ATS' business partners will minimize Range's paper processing by maximizing e-business tools. "ATS' strategic alliances round out the total business solution by streamlining processes with Web-enabled workflow systems and also affording significant cost savings," said David R. Orr, senior vice president of ATS. "For example, Transzap's Oildex Solution will use Extensible Markup Language (XML) to electronically transport Range invoices directly to invoice processing, while Petrolis' PetroXML will provide a Web-based interface for the electronic exchange of revenue detail."
Using Actuate's e-business solution, ATS will also deliver electronic bills, client statements and regulatory reports to Range. Document management will also be available to Range via the ASP using Vanguard Systems' IMS/21, which is integrated with the Artesia System.
