WAYNE, Pa.--()--MEDecision, Inc., a leading provider of collaborative health care management solutions, has placed 33rd on the Central Penn Business Journal’s list of Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania. Among the companies appearing on the list for the first time, MEDecision placed 14th. The company was recognized last week at an awards ceremony at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center attended by more than 1,100 people.
“This recognition is a credit to our employees, who are among the very best in our industry”
The Best Places to Work in PA program is a public/private partnership between Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry and the Central Penn Business Journal. It identifies, recognizes and honors the best places to be employed in Pennsylvania, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses.
“This recognition is a credit to our employees, who are among the very best in our industry,” said Scott Storrer, president and COO at MEDecision. “The fact that they themselves have identified us as one of the best places to work in Pennsylvania is extremely important to us and our continued growth and success. We have made a significant investment in creating and sustaining a healthy, high-performing culture, and this award validates that investment.”
Winning organizations in the Best Places to Work in PA program were determined by a two-part employee evaluation process; the first of which assessed each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophies, systems and demographics. The second consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and their respective final rankings.
“Successful companies are beginning to realize the correlation between employee satisfaction and productivity, talent acquisition, retention and client satisfaction,” said Dick Haviland, senior vice president of human resources and organizational excellence at MEDecision. “All of us at MEDecision are very fortunate and obviously quite proud to work for a company that recognizes this.”
Since its founding in 1988, MEDecision has been at the forefront of technical innovation in health care management and is currently regarded as the leader in its industry. The company’s electronic health records and other solutions are designed to easily and affordably increase communication among the various stakeholders in the health care process — patients, their care providers and health care organizations — to increase efficiencies, streamline operations and maintain costs. MEDecision is currently working to support health care reform mandates through the development of solutions that bring real-time, actionable clinical data to users at the point of care through any technical format or delivery mechanism.
