ORAGIN’s Plant-Based Cheese Brand ‘Future of Cheese’ Obtains Organic Certification Recognized by Canadian, US and EU Regulatory Bodies

Future of Cheese products have been audited and issued Organic Certification allowing for national sales to commence in Canada, the United States and EU markets.

TORONTO--()--ORAGIN Foods Inc. (“ORAGIN” or the “Company”) (TSXV: OG) (OTCQX: OGGFF) (FRA: 9CW) is excited to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Future of Cheese Inc. (“Future of Cheese” or the “Company”), has obtained Organic Certification through Ecocert allowing the Company to market Organic claims on its products in the Canadian, United States and European Union markets. Through Ecocert, the Company’s products have been certified in accordance with the terms of Canadian Organic Regime (CRO), the US - Canada Organic Equivalency Arrangement (USCOEA), and the European Union- Canada Organic Equivalency Arrangement (EUCOEA).

“This is a huge milestone for us and the shareholders of ORAGIN as it means that not only are our products recognized by an international regulatory body to be of the highest quality by using organic ingredients but also ensures the absence of GMO, chemical and synthetic ingredients, further proving our commitment to health, wellness and the protection of our environment,” stated Jen Wojtaszek, President of Future of Cheese. “Additionally, we have now been officially granted the green light to proudly market these claims in various international markets as we plan for our anticipated ecommerce launch.”

Ecocert has an international network in more than 130 countries to verify the conformity of practices with Organic specifications. The entire supply chain is audited, from the raw material to the finished product. Ecocert carries out at least one annual on-site inspection, supplemented by additional unannounced audits during the year. The audit reports are then independently verified in order to certify organic products.

In addition, the certification will allow the Company to expand into retail chains that have strict organic, non-GMO, and sustainable policies on any products they offer to their trusted customer bases.
