Experity Offers Complimentary Urgent Care Application for Treating COVID-19 Patients

COVID-19 Telemedicine will increase patient safety and streamlined workflow

MACHESNEY PARK, Ill.--()--Experity, the leading provider of electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management (PM) software in the urgent care space, announced it has released a COVID-19 Response Application, free for any U.S.-based urgent care clinic. The application’s functionality allows urgent care clinics to connect with patients virtually through two-way text messaging and telemedicine functionality to help with mitigating exposure for the community and clinic staff. It also has check-in and triage capability to streamline workflows and enhance patient and physician safety.

With so many patients choosing to stay home unless their symptoms indicate a medical emergency, this new application provides peace of mind. When patients use the app, they are evaluated remotely through a series of questions and then guided through the next best steps via text messaging, with the option of a telemedicine visit. Patients can reduce the time spent in the waiting room and minimize contact with other patients. For widespread adoptability, the application is accessible via a clinic-specific URL, regardless of the current HIT solution they have in place.

“Urgent care centers have been influential in containing previous outbreaks in the U.S. as the default healthcare option for many patients, and we take that responsibility very seriously,” said Dr. David Stern, CEO, Experity. “Providing urgent cares with free enhanced workflow software to manage patients and visit volumes safely in this challenging time will be paramount in our efforts to minimize the effects of COVID-19. Every urgent care center in the country can take advantage of the application and can use it to help contain the spread of the virus.”

More than 500 urgent care clinics currently use Experity’s stand-alone application to minimize the spread of COVID-19 while still treating patients with other medical conditions. It will be available to any urgent care clinic in the U.S. free of charge for the next 90 days, pending developments in the COVID-19 pandemic.
