Do the KIND Thing on World Kindness Day, Donate Blood

TORONTO--()--Donating blood is one of the kindest things an individual can do to help someone in need, yet only 4% of eligible donors sustain the Canadian blood system. This November, in commemoration of Remembrance Day (November 11) and World Kindness Day (November 13), KIND Snacks and Canadian Blood Services are creating change and encouraging Canadians to celebrate kindness by donating blood.

KIND Snacks is proud to partner with Canadian Blood Services to drive awareness of blood donation during the month of November, both in honour of Remembrance Day and World Kindness Day. The partnership is a natural fit for KIND, a brand that embodies kindness as a core value. By improving the way we live, eat and relate to one another, KIND hopes to foster communities that are healthier, more empathetic and embrace our shared humanity. Giving blood is a simple yet powerful act of kindness.

By joining Canada’s Lifeline and sharing a small amount of time, Canadians have the power to change someone’s life by giving blood. The impact of this single kind act is significant, as half of all Canadians will either need blood or know someone who will need blood to survive. During the month of November, Canadian Blood Services encourages Canadians to donate blood in honour of the women and men of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Every minute of every day, a patient in Canada needs blood. All Canadians are asked to consider donating, particularly those donors with type O-negative blood which can be transfused to any patient, making a lifesaving difference in emergency situations.

To drive Canadians to Do the KIND Thing, every individual who visits a Canadian Blood Services donor centre from November 11 – 15 will receive a KIND bar. On November 13, KIND representatives will be sponsoring relaxation lounges at select donor centres in Toronto (2 Bloor Street East, Hudson Bay Centre) and Vancouver (4750 Oak Street).

About KIND Snacks: Since 2004, KIND has been on a mission to make the world a little kinder one snack and act at a time. KIND was born out of its founder's desire to create a snack that was healthy and tasty, wholesome and convenient. What began as a line of premium Fruit & Nut bars sparked the creation of a new healthy snacking category. Today, KIND has a family of more than 80 snacks that offer solutions for a variety of occasions.

KIND’s recipes use nutrient-dense, premium ingredients like nuts, seeds, whole grains and fruit, which are recommended for a healthy diet. All snacks are gluten free, do not contain genetically engineered ingredients and are not sweetened with sugar alcohols or artificial sweeteners.

Kindness has always been at the core of its business. KIND was founded with a social mission, the KIND Movement, which celebrates and inspires kindness. Today, the Movement is brought to life through the brand, The KIND Foundation, and its flagship initiative, Empatico.

KIND is majority founder- and team-owned, and every full-time team member has a stake in the company. To learn more about KIND, KIND bars and to join our Movement, visit kindsnacks.ca.
