SALT LAKE CITY--()--BioUtah, Utah’s only trade association dedicated solely to the life sciences community, kicks-offs its 10th annual Utah Life Sciences Summit November 7, presented by ATL Technology. The Summit is the largest of its kind in the state, where top life sciences business leaders, experts and professionals convene to discuss important market trends, healthcare policy, strategies and best practices to promote innovation, capitalize on opportunities, address challenges, and advance the industry.

“This is our 10th year providing the life sciences community with a knowledge-packed, quality forum to promote our vibrant industry and help companies, large and small, be successful and help patients,” said Kelvyn Cullimore, president and CEO of BioUtah.

An impressive lineup of speakers is scheduled throughout the day. Governor Gary Herbert will open the meeting with a video welcome. Keynote speakers include: Ben Comer, senior manager with PwC Health Research Institute; Rob Wright, chief editor of Life Science Magazine; Rich McKeown, chairman of Leavitt Partners; and Scott LaGanga, senior vice president with PhRMA. Dr. Jeff Shuren, director of the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health, will speak to attendees on the New World of 510(k)s via live video feed.

“We’ve put together one of our best Summits ever, with interesting, timely, and thought-provoking sessions,” said Rob Etherington, CEO of Clene Nanomedicine and BioUtah Board Chair. “Utah’s life sciences industry is one of the fastest growing in the country. This year, the Summit also offers three special subject tracks — Regulatory, Reimbursement, and Life Sciences. The Regulatory Track is designed for those who work in regulatory affairs, quality, and compliance. The Reimbursement Track focuses on pathways and policy drivers around drug, device and diagnostic reimbursement. The Life Sciences Track takes an in-depth look at FDA topic trends, non-dilutive funding options, and new technologies emerging from the University of Utah.
