NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ORIX Capital Partners (OCP) announced today that Craig Kahler has joined the firm as Managing Director. In this role, he is responsible for building the middle-market private equity business, designing and executing strategies that leverage OCP’s capabilities and competitive advantages, overseeing the New York-based investment team’s activities, and maintaining and developing client relationships.
Kahler will also serve on the OCP investment committee, playing a key role in investment strategy and assessing performance. He will report to Chris Suan, President and Senior Managing Director for ORIX Capital Partners.

Kahler brings 16 years of middle-market private equity investing experience, having most recently led the New York-based private equity team of Safanad, a global principal investment firm he joined in 2014. Prior to joining Safanad, Kahler was a Portfolio Manager with BlueMountain Capital Management and Principal at H.I.G. Capital. He started his career at Willis Stein & Partners and Credit Suisse First Boston.
