BioConnect’s Unified Mobile Access Solution Enables the Enterprise to Extend the Use of 2FA Digital Authenticators to Physical Access Points

TORONTO--()--BioConnect today announces the launch of their Unified Mobile Access solution, enabling enterprises to leverage IT approved authenticators, like Duo Security, at physical access points. The retro-fit solution is not limited to door access only, its capabilities can also be implemented in data centers, IDF & MDF closets, server cabinets, machinery, vaults, and other equipment to provide additional step-up authentication security without requiring the replacement of existing access control systems, readers or cards.

Physical security technology has been slow to keep pace with the digital innovation that is rapidly occurring within the enterprise. Access cards and key fobs are still as widely used today as they were 20 years ago. These tokens are easily stolen and replicated providing minimal identity assurance that the person presenting it at the door is its intended owner. With a new solution from BioConnect, a user will simply walk up to a door, tap their card or fob, be notified on their mobile device to approve an authentication request from Duo, and upon success will gain access. The solution comes equipped with time-of-day scheduling capabilities, user management and unification of physical and digital authentication and access events.

“BioConnect is committed to enabling trust in the connected world. Our unified mobile access solution extends the reach of leading modern authentication providers, approved globally by IT departments, to physical access points providing an identity driven security perimeter for the enterprise” says Rob Douglas, Chairman and CEO of BioConnect. “We designed the solution to work with existing access control infrastructure, leveraging our current partnerships and integrations with over 80% of top access control systems providing a simple retrofit and swift deployment option for the world’s physical access infrastructure.”

BioConnect will be hosting a launch event for their Unified Mobile Access solution on September 19th, 2019 at WeWork Toronto. The evening reception will include a panel discussion led by industry experts and high-tech executives from DataBank, Duo Security, Genetec, and BioConnect and will be moderated by Susan Stover, VP of Digital Content for FindBiometrics.
