VCA Charities’ Annual “Pennies for Pets” Campaign Raises more than $570,000 for Pets in Need

VCA Animal Hospitals demonstrates that when organizations work together, small change benefits 55 companion animal welfare organizations

LOS ANGELES--()--VCA Charities, the nonprofit partner of the nation’s largest animal hospital network, VCA Animal Hospitals, together have successfully raised more than $570,000 to support regionally selected companion animal welfare organizations in the fourth annual company-wide Pennies for Pets campaign.

From April to June 2019, participating VCA hospitals collected donations by encouraging clients to round up their transaction amounts to the nearest dollar or donate online. Funds raised support local and regional animal welfare charities to aid them in the important work they do on behalf of pets in need.

“We are so thankful to the clients of VCA for taking the time to donate in support of the life-saving work of these great organizations,” said Ryne Meadors, director of VCA Charities. “Without them and the associates at the VCA hospitals across the country, this would not have been possible.”

Pennies for Pets donors wrote messages of support on paw prints and followed the fundraising progress at each participating local VCA hospital. The check presentations to the beneficiary companion animal welfare organizations will take place in the coming weeks.

“This collaborative campaign brings together VCA Charities, our family of VCA animal hospitals and our clients, community members, and donors who together are a powerful force to provide every pet the opportunity of a healthy and happy life and a loving relationship with their pet owner,” said VCA Vice President of Social Responsibility and Innovation Brandon Antin. “Thanks to everyone for working together to make this year’s campaign successful and enhancing the lives of even more pets in need.”
