HomeServe USA Acquires Cleveland-area Geisel Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing

Acquisition Bolsters HomeServe’s HVAC, Plumbing and Installations Business in Ohio

NORWALK, Conn.--()--HomeServe USA (HomeServe), a leading provider of service plans, repair and installation services for the home, today announced the acquisition of Geisel Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing, Inc. Geisel, based in Elyria, Ohio, with offices in Oberlin and Medina, was founded in 1935, and provides service, and installation of HVAC equipment and plumbing systems for homes throughout northern Ohio.

HomeServe’s growing HVAC business has been key to the company’s growth in North America. The company’s goal is to offer a complete solution to the installation, repair and maintenance of residential heating, air conditioning and water heating systems. The Geisel acquisition represents the company’s latest step in capturing a piece of the estimated $29 billion annual HVAC business opportunity in the U.S.

There’s nothing more exciting than seeing our company continue to grow by partnering with quality high-performing HVAC businesses,” said HomeServe North America CEO John Kitzie. “For 83 years, Geisel’s customers in northern Ohio have entrusted their homes to the company. Their shared commitment to high-quality customer service makes them a natural fit for our company.”

Geisel got its start selling patented gas-conversion burners out of original owner Claude Geisel’s basement. Over the years Geisel expanded, winning numerous awards in recognition of its leadership position in the mechanical contracting field and for outstanding service to the community.

We know when it comes to in-home HVAC and plumbing services it’s the people who make the difference.” said Andy Culberson, president of Geisel. “By insisting on consistent professionalism, customer-focused attitudes and empowering all Associates to do what's right, both our customers and Geisel's Associates have a higher level of satisfaction in a job well done.”

That’s why we’ve decided to join forces with HomeServe,” Culberson continued, “they offer top-notch customer service and have technology tools that will help us deliver a better experience not only to our customers but to homeowners throughout the greater Cleveland area.”

HomeServe has been serving customers in the greater Cleveland area since 2006, where the company currently serves 158,000 homeowners with over 300,000 various repair service plans across various trades. However, only 41,000 of these represent HVAC-related plans, and bringing the Geisel team into the HomeServe family will increase customer access to a full suite of repair, maintenance and installation services that were not available before.
