Utimaco HSM Common Criteria EAL4+ Certified

  • Utimaco Hardware Security Module Common Criteria-certified
  • eIDAS Protection Profile EN 419 221-5 certificate opens up new business opportunities for Utimaco and its partners
  • Dedicated Utimaco CryptoServer CP5 simulator available for evaluation and integration testing

CAMPBELL, Calif.--()--Utimaco, a leading manufacturer of Hardware Security Module (HSM) technology, received the Common Criteria (CC) EAL4+ certification for its CryptoServer CP5 HSM.

Governments and private-sector enterprises often require Common Criteria evaluations to protect their IT infrastructure. By relying on certified, high-quality products they can ensure they are implementing the most secure solutions possible. The Common Criteria Recognition Agreement (CCRA), signed in 2000, regulates mutually recognized CC certifications across different countries and is based on the requirements of the European ITSEC, the U.S. TCSEC and the Canadian CTCPEC.

With this certification, the Utimaco CryptoServer CP5 is the first HSM in the market to be certified in accordance with the European Union eIDAS Protection Profile EN 419 221-5. This makes it a future-proof choice for secure trust services, which provide local and remote electronic signing and sealing, issuing of certificates, website authentication and timestamping.

For application development and regression testing, Utimaco offers a dedicated CryptoServer CP5 HSM simulator to prospects and customers.
