Session 2: GDPR The New Cyber – Horizons in 2018 (9:30am – 10:30am ET)

This session will address the implementation of the E.U. General Data Protection Regulations that will be implemented in May 2018. Panelists will tackle questions such as how this applies to U.S. companies, what is Informed Consent under the GDPR, and will provide insight on sanctions and fines related to the regulations. The panel will also cover unique cybersecurity and privacy risks related to IoT devices, and federal efforts to encourage IoT Security. Other topics will include DDoS attacks and privacy shields.

Session 4: Fighting the Cyber War: Corporate Governance, People and Process (1:00pm – 2:00pm ET)

This session will extract lessons learned from 2017 security incidents and provide insight on how to successfully enforce best practices for corrective action and create a security culture within an organization. Panelists will dive into proactive risk assessments for prioritizing an organization’s security controls to include risk appetite and “mining the dark web”. Other topics will include: cloud migration mishaps, due diligence in deals, board responsibility for cyber and the impact of failure.

Who: Stan Engelbrecht, Director of Cyber Security Practice

Stan is the director of D3’s cybersecurity practice and an accredited CISSP. He is involved throughout the product delivery and customer success lifecycle and takes particular interest in working with customers to configure solutions. Stan often speaks about cybersecurity issues at conferences, in the media, and as the chapter president for a security special interest group.
