Siemens Healthineers Announces First Installation of the Atellica Solution with Aptio Automation in the United States

  • Access Medical Laboratories in Jupiter, FL sought state-of-the-art technology for its laboratory operations to position the facility for long-term growth.

MALVERN, Pa.--()--Siemens Healthineers and Access Medical Laboratories in Jupiter, Fl. announced today that Access Medical Laboratories became the first in the U.S. to complete its installation of the Atellica® Solution1 immunoassay and clinical chemistry analyzers connected to Aptio® Automation. The Atellica Solution enables healthcare facilities to achieve better outcomes at lower costs by transforming care delivery in the laboratory.

The trending motivators for installing the latest innovation from Siemens Healthineers include unprecedented flexibility to grow patient testing capacity with the Atellica Solution modular design, and increased speed with its patented, bi-directional, magnetic sample-transport technology. These features are expected to enable Access Medical Laboratories to keep up with rising patient testing demands and decreasing reimbursement rates.

“As one of the nation's largest full service specialty laboratories offering high quality diagnostic testing solutions, we must continue to offer physicians state-of-the-art technology that enables us to improve turnaround time as our testing volume increases, and reduce downtime associated with maintenance and upkeep—without compromising on quality,” said Mohamed Elhosseiny, Laboratory Director, Access Medical Laboratories. “The Atellica Solution combined with Aptio Automation was the best solution for our laboratory. This combination enables the flexibility to grow and adapt our operations as demand and reimbursement rates fluctuate to maintain our position as a leader in wellness profiling.”

“The Atellica Solution is resonating with facilities such as Access Medical Laboratories for all of the reasons we intended—unprecedented control over samples, simplicity in operations and upkeep, and, overall, the opportunity to improve outcomes in achieving laboratory goals,” said Andy Olen, Senior Vice President, Laboratory Diagnostics, North America, Siemens Healthineers. “Our support teams are working diligently with our customers throughout the planning and installation phases to enable laboratories to focus on their operations while maintaining confidence that the Atellica Solution will meet their diagnostic testing needs of today and in the future.”
