WATERLOO, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Communitech is pleased to announce the addition of three new speakers to the True North conference May 29-31, 2018, including Uber’s Chief Brand Officer, Bozoma Saint John, Oscar award-winning producer and director, Spike Jonze (Her), and Emmy Award-winning writer, Charlie Brooker (Black Mirror).
As Chief Brand Officer, Saint John brought her unique backstory and bold personality to Uber, where she has worked to change both the culture and perception of the ride-sharing company. She’ll take the stage on May 31st to speak to her own experiences with diversity and inclusion, as well as on her role within Uber.
Jonze and Brooker will headline “Stranger than Fiction,” a tech-meets-entertainment panel moderated by Canadian lawyer and author Mark Sakamoto (winner of CBC’s Canada Reads 2018), where they’ll bring their unique perspectives on technology, fiction and entertainment to the stage.
To inspire more creative perspectives on how tech affects humanity, True North has also launched a short story contest, inviting submissions for a near-future fiction of 1,000 words or less on the theme We shall arrive soon. Details on the contest and submission process are available here.
