TYLER, Texas--()--Thanks, in part, to a $430,168 Affordable Housing Program (AHP) grant from Austin Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas), Hiway 80 Rescue Mission will provide long-term housing to 24 homeless men in Tyler, Texas.

The media is encouraged to join local dignitaries and bank representatives at a groundbreaking at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at 12781 TX-64 West in Tyler.

The $430,168 AHP grant will provide funding for the demolition and reconstruction of two cottages that will provide long-term housing, addiction recovery and social services for homeless men. The cottages are part of a community called Triumph Village, and are expected to be completed in December.

AHP grants are available annually through FHLB Dallas member institutions such as Austin Bank to assist in the development of affordable owner-occupied and rental housing for very low- to moderate-income households located across FHLB Dallas’ five-state District of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and Texas. Triumph Village is one of 19 affordable housing projects to benefit from $7 million in grants awarded this year to affordable housing projects in FHLB Dallas’ five-state District.
