CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BDO USA, LLP, one of the nation’s leading accounting and advisory firms, has been named one of the 2018 NAFE Top Companies for Executive Women by the National Association for Female Executives. The NAFE award recognizes American corporations where women have significant clout to make the decisions that affect their company’s future and its bottom line. American Express, Bank of America, Dupont, Johnson & Johnson, McKinsey & Co and Prudential Financial were among the other businesses recognized. The NAFE Top 70 Companies, released today, is featured in April/May issue of Working Mother. The full report on this year’s winners is listed here.
“By focusing on where women professionals want and need support, BDO has made significant strides in improving their experience at the firm, while creating a culture that will enhance the experience for future BDO women,” said Cathy Moy, Chief People Officer of BDO USA. “Recognition from organizations like NAFE is an important third-party endorsement of the progress we have made. As a firm, we are committed to building and retaining a diverse workforce through our inclusion initiatives and championing career growth through various programs. Diversity is good for our people and it is good for business.”
BDO scored particularly well in the “women’s issues and advancement” category, which includes the firm’s programs to support women’s advancement. Over the past few years, women’s inclusion has reinforced its strategy by bringing in the voices of women at various stages of their career — introducing both the early career and mid-career women’s councils. Women’s inclusion was bolstered further in Fiscal Year 2018 with all communications and events focusing on the three areas top of mind for women professionals: self-confidence, mentorship and career advancement.
“NAFE’s annual scrutiny of women’s progress at American companies offers essential data about the movement of women into top leadership in the private sector,” said Betty Spence, president of NAFE. “NAFE’s Top Companies shows what progressive organizations are doing to ensure women’s advancement into executive positions.”

advance. To be eligible for the NAFE Top Companies survey, entrants must
