China UniCreative Group Launches Movie IP Theme Town Projects

BEIJING--()--China UniCreative Group announced at its Beijing headquarters on December 8, 2017 that veteran theme park executive and show producer Daniel Burzlaff and seasoned Hollywood producer and branded entertainment executive Craig Santy have joined UniCreative, marking the official kickoff of its IP theme town projects.

The shareholders of UniCreative and its subsidiaries are business insiders from global cultural investment and entertainment industries engaged in movie & television, movie IP theme parks, cultural tourism and theme towns, with abundant domestic and overseas entertainment resources, as well as capital strength.

UniCreative's movie IP theme towns will, for the first time, integrate film, TV and digital production, regional tourism and first-class amusement experiences within a unique, functioning town environment. The five planned IP theme towns will feature the best in global IP from film, TV, animation and gaming incorporated into the theme parks and cultural tourism attractions and will utilize this popular and original IP to create new content at the theme towns' state-of-the-art production studios in conjunction with top entertainment companies. The unique synergy between the theme parks and production studios will offer a powerful new tool for storytelling resulting in the first and only internationally famed movie IP theme towns in China with global appeal.

With an initial investment of over RMB 100 billion, UniCreative has identified several site locations and is stepping up its deployment in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Yangtze River Delta region, Pearl River Delta region, Central and Western China and on the resort Island of Hainan. Daniel Burzlaff joins UniCreative as COO of the amusement division, and Craig Santy joins as Executive President of the studio division. UniCreative Themed Entertainment Company is committed to building China-controlled movie IP theme parks of the highest quality through international cooperation.

Daniel Burzlaff, having creatively led amusement projects in 17 countries and regions in North America, Asia, and Europe, is a veteran theme park expert in creation, development and operation of international theme park projects. In well over 35 years within the industry Daniel has worked with the top-tier markets and world-class IP's, and partners including Paramount Studios, Warner Brothers Studios, Universal Studios, Sea World Parks, Six Flags, Walibi Parks, Time Warner, Ocean Park Hong Kong, Chimelong, and even the City of Beverly Hills, Calif. He will be fully in charge of the planning and design of UniCreative's IP theme towns.

Craig Santy has been active in the US and Asian movie and TV industry since the early 1990s. He is the crucial linkage concerning IP licensing, production, co-productions, branding and production financing between the two continents. Over the past 24 years he has served as a producer for top broadcasters such as CBS, A&E, Bravo, Vh-1, National Geographic and The Discovery Channel. With previous posts in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Mr. Santy has accumulated extensive experience in doing business in Asia. In addition to overseeing the theme town studio facilities, Mr. Santy will also manage the UniCreative film fund aimed at financing domestic productions, international co-productions and distribution.
