Epiq Solutions’ Flying Fox Sensors Now on Department of Defense’s Information Network Approved Products List (DoDIN APL)

Innovative sensors provide real-time unique approach to wireless intrusion detection systems with “zero false positives” for cellular while meeting Department of Defense standards.

SCHAUMBURG, Ill.--()--Epiq Solutions, an engineering company dedicated to advancing RF technology, today announced that its Flying FoxTM wireless intrusion detection sensors (WIDS) have been approved as Cybersecurity Tools (CST) and are now available on the Department of Defense’s Information Network Approved Products List (DoDIN APL). Epiq Solutions collaborated with the U. S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) to successfully complete the rigorous Cybersecurity (CS) testing process needed for Flying Fox sensors to make the list.

Approval as a cybersecurity tool and listing on the APL puts Flying Fox’s long-awaited “zero false positive” technology for cellular intrusion detection into the defense and intelligence marketplace. “Energy-only” detection sensors for cellular are prone to registering false positives, and result in wasted time and cost. Flying Fox eliminates false positives using patent-pending RF signal processing techniques, providing government and military personnel with quick, accurate, mission-critical signal identification they can rely on. Interfaced with NRL’s GOTS networked wireless discovery software Orb-weaverTM, the sensors can be networked to provide monitoring for cellular, as well as Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth®, in secure areas with a “no wireless” policy such as embassies and other government buildings, SCIFs, prisons, meeting rooms, courtrooms, and even perimeter fences.

"We are excited to have passed the rigorous testing needed in order to be listed on the DoDIN APL,” stated John Orlando, CEO of Epiq Solutions. “Flying Fox’s certification is a testament to the successful collaboration of Epiq Solutions and NRL over the last five years. We are proud to be able to offer our highly secure, state-of-the-art wireless intrusion detection to the government and military agencies that serve our country.”

Flying Fox sensors are in production and orders have already shipped to government customers. Based on customer feedback, Epiq Solutions has also started to ship sensor networks in preconfigured deployable kits for on-the-go operations and projects.
