DEDHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AliMed, Inc., a Dedham, Mass.-based medical supply manufacturer, announced today it is the recipient of a Manufacturer of the Year Award presented by the Massachusetts Legislative Caucus in a ceremony held at the State House on Tuesday, Oct. 24. Nominated by Rep. Paul McMurtry (D-Dedham), AliMed was one of 53 local manufacturers honored for innovative and revolutionary manufacturing capabilities and products.
Founded in Boston’s North End in 1970, AliMed has a nearly 50-year history of developing unique medical products designed to solve everyday patient needs. Early innovations included production of advanced fabrication materials for orthotic applications, accommodative insoles for plantar fasciitis relief, and pressure-reducing wheelchair cushions. In 1985, AliMed moved its headquarters to Dedham and expanded its manufacturing operations into the Ergonomics and Surgical fields to service a broader range of patient, staff, and facility needs.
