SAN FRANCISCO--()--Riverbed today announced that during the week of November 13, over 600 employee volunteers will perform more than 1,000 hours of community service at local charitable organizations in 15 of the Company’s largest global locations. The annual Riverbed REACH OUT (Riverbed Employees Assisting Community and Helping Out) Week will help out nonprofit organizations focused on anti-poverty efforts, natural disaster relief, disadvantaged youth, community development, and education.

Riverbed expanded REACH OUT Week worldwide in 2017 after a successful pilot program last year at its headquarters in San Francisco where more than 200 employees volunteered at five local charities, cleaning and decorating homeless shelters, sorting food at the local food bank and supporting the city library. This year’s global expansion will more than double the amount of community service provided by employees during Riverbed REACH OUT Week, and compliments company volunteer and fundraising efforts that take place at Riverbed throughout the year.

“It is part of Riverbed’s DNA to invest in community and sustainability programs to make a positive impact in the world on a global and local level,” said Jerry M. Kennelly, CEO and Co-Founder of Riverbed. “As a company, ‘community minded’ is one of our values. We strive to be a positive force through volunteer programs and financial contributions, with a focus on supporting charitable organizations that help those underserved in our communities.”

“We can’t say enough about the longstanding partnership we have with Riverbed, and look forward to having staff members back in the warehouse this week as we prepare for the upcoming holiday season,” said Paul Ash, Executive Director at SF Marin Food Bank. “Events like Riverbed REACH OUT Week not only make a world of difference to charities like ours when it comes to serving neighbors in need, but also helps to inspire other companies to become good role models in their communities.”

Riverbed REACH OUT Week includes volunteer projects in the U.S. (San Francisco; San Sunnyvale/San Jose; Thousand Oaks, CA; Bethesda, MD; Nashua, NH; New York City; Boston/Cambridge; Champaign, IL), EMEA (Bracknell, UK – near London; Hoofddorp, Netherlands; Cluj, Romania) and APJ (Singapore; Sydney; Bangalore) regions for the following charitable organizations:
