BURLINGTON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Burlington Stores announces the launch of its 11th annual Warm Coats and Warm Hearts Coat Drive, in partnership with ABC’s Good Morning America and the national non-profit organization, Delivering Good, Inc. With 40.6 million Americans living in poverty according to the 2016 US Census, together they are on a mission to keep their neighbors in need warm this winter.
This year’s campaign theme is in line with Burlington’s ongoing commitment to the communities in which they operate and is focused on rallying neighbors to come together to help their fellow neighbors in need by donating a gently-worn coat at any Burlington store location. Customers are encouraged to simply donate a coat at any store, spread the word to inspire others to do the same, and/or make it a day of giving, encouraging their community group to come together at their nearby Burlington to donate a coat. As a thank you, those who donate receive an offer for 10 percent off their entire purchase, valid through January 22, 2018, the concluding date of the coat drive.
Since the program’s launch in 2006, millions of Americans, including hundreds of celebrities, have donated more than 1.8 million coats to the Warm Coats and Warm Hearts Coat Drive. While the Coat Drive is national, all coats stay locally within the community in which they are donated. Delivering Good pairs each Burlington location with a local agency who in turn distributes the donated coats to help those within their community stay warm.
"At Burlington, giving back is part of our DNA and our coat drive is part of our heritage. We are committed to keeping those in need warm and are thankful to our customers for their desire to help their neighbors in need,” said Tom Kingsbury, President, CEO and Chairman of Burlington Stores.
Starting today, ABC’s Emmy Award-winning news program, Good Morning America, will help to promote the coat drive throughout its duration by reminding its millions of viewers about the ongoing need for coats all across the country. Good Morning America anchors, celebrity guests, as well as community groups will donate coats, in the hopes of inspiring others to join the effort.
“We are thrilled to team up with Burlington Stores once again for the Warm Coats and Warm Hearts Coat Drive,” said Lisa Gurwitch, president and CEO of Delivering Good Inc. “This partnership not only provides coats to those who need them most through over 300 community agencies nationwide, but also presents consumers with an easy way to help their neighbors in need.”
