With SAP® Hybris® Solutions, IDP Aims to Connect International Students to a Global Community

BARCELONA, Spain--()--SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced that six SAP® Hybris® solutions will power a new global platform built by IDP Education (IDP), helping students around the world connect to universities, services, and each other. This announcement was made at SAP Hybris Live: Global Summit, being held October 17–19 in Barcelona, Spain.

Speaking at the event, Neil Pearson, chief digital marketing officer at IDP, said the six solutions provide IDP with the technology foundations to achieve its bold ambition.

“Our vision is to build the world’s leading platform and connected community to guide international students along their journey to achieve their lifelong learning and career aspirations,” said Pearson. “By implementing the SAP Hybris solutions for customer engagement and commerce, we are able to support international students earlier in their decision-making process and stay by their side each step of the way — through study to employment. This new technology will make things much easier for our ambitious and globally mobile students to connect and engage with IDP, be it through Facebook, WeChat, live chat, or face-to-face interaction with our 650 education counsellors around the world.”

IDP, which has more than 100 offices in 34 countries, is replacing its existing systems with the SAP Hybris cloud solutions for commerce, marketing, sales and service, SAP Hybris communities, and the SAP Hybris citizen engagement accelerator. The global platform rollout follows on from IDP's acquisition of The Hotcourses Group, a leading student engagement and marketing company.

“With the insights we gain from Hotcourses’ 69 million annual web visitors, combined with the analytics enabled through the SAP Hybris solutions, we are on the right path to realizing our vision of building the world's most definitive database of international students,” Pearson added.

“In today’s digital and services-driven world, markets will be won by those who can transform,” said Carsten Thoma, co-founder and president, SAP Hybris.* “Education is no exception. Disruptive processes and technology are required to win, and IDP is taking the needed steps to remain a global leader in its field and make its customers the priority. IDP will serve as a best-practice case for how an organization can transform its business model to win in the digital economy.”
