BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Press Ganey today announced the launch of its Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (IRF CAHPS) Early Adopter Program, further expanding the company’s CAHPS offerings and complementing Press Ganey’s portfolio of industry-leading performance improvement solutions. This flexible new program provides inpatient rehabilitation facilities with the opportunity to gain experience with IRF CAHPS measurement, identify improvement opportunities, and implement patient experience initiatives in preparation for the anticipated requirements.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently finalized experience of care survey and mode testing in the rehabilitation setting, which typically precede a regulatory requirement. The Press Ganey IRF CAHPS early adopter program includes the official CAHPS items with an option to add proven Press Ganey questions that assess key components of care that matter most for rehab patients. Benefits for participants include:
- Advance preparation for future regulatory requirements. By measuring early, organizations can establish benchmarks and take steps to improve the patient experience now.
- Access to Press Ganey’s proven, scientifically validated questions that address key priority areas for patients receiving therapy after a serious event or surgery, including the experience with doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapists.
- Flexibility to choose between three survey administration options: Press Ganey survey plus official IRF CAHPS survey, IRF CAHPS survey plus targeted Press Ganey questions, or the IRF CAHPS survey only. Optional custom questions measure items such as personal issues, psychology, recreation therapy, speech therapy, and visitors and family experience.
“Press Ganey has always been committed to helping clients capture the voice of the patient across the continuum of care both as a means of continuous improvement as well as in preparation for future requirements.” said Patrick T. Ryan, CEO, Press Ganey. “We have consistently seen that organizations that participate in patient experience measurement programs before they are required tend to outperform those that don’t, and also sustain that advantage over time.”
Press Ganey partners with more than 26,000 health care organizations and more than 50% of U.S. freestanding rehabilitation hospitals to continuously measure and improve performance. Press Ganey is the largest CAHPS administrator in the country with more than 8,500 participating organizations.
