LOS ANGELES--()--The Orthopaedic Institute for Children (OIC) announced today that Kerbanu Pudumjee has been appointed to the organization’s board of trustees. Pudumjee is immediate past president of Las Madrecitas, an auxiliary of the Charitable Children’s Guild of OIC dedicated to promoting the welfare of children through community awareness, volunteerism and financial assistance.

“As a dedicated volunteer, donor and fundraising organizer, Kerbanu has shown incredible passion for the OIC mission and the children we serve,” said Anthony Scaduto, M.D., chief executive officer of OIC. “We are thrilled to have her join our board of trustees and know that she will continue to bring tremendous value through her wonderful spirit and kind heart.”

A resident of Palos Verdes Estates, Pudumjee holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Marshall School of Business in Entrepreneurship at the University of Southern California. After working with the Mitsui Banking Group in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills as a commercial lending officer, Pudumjee obtained her real estate license and joined DHIJ Management in 1992. For the past 25 years, she has been a key member of the DHIJ team, applying her talents to all aspects of property management, financing and real estate acquisitions.

Pudumjee has volunteered with nonprofit organizations that relate to children since 2005 and has been a part of Las Madrecitas for nearly a decade. Founded in 1956, this unique mother-daughter organization has contributed nearly $2.5 million to OIC through year-round fundraising activities culminating in the annual Las Madrecitas Evergreen Ball in January where daughters from Las Madrecitas and Las Amigas de Las Lomas are formally presented. Pudumjee is also currently a member of the Charitable Children’s Guild, which, since its founding more than a century ago, has given nearly $10 million to OIC and focuses their attention on ensuring that children get the orthopaedic medical care they need to get the most out of life.
