The American Journal of Managed Care® Presents “Advanced Market Access: Evolving Forces”

CRANBURY, N.J.--()--The American Journal of Managed Care®(AJMC®), the leading peer-reviewed journal dedicated to issues in managed care, will host “Advanced Market Access: Evolving Forces,” on October 11, 2017, at its headquarters in Cranbury, New Jersey. This educational program geared toward marketing professionals will be moderated by Neil Minkoff, MD, chief medical officer, EmpiraMed Inc., and Susan Baltrus, market access consultant and instructional designer.

In making the announcement, Jeff Prescott, PharmD, senior vice president of managed markets at AJMC®, said, “The managed care field is continuously evolving. Our uniquely designed workshop will help marketing, sales and medical professionals better understand their customers’ buying patterns based on current market trends. The attendees will not only hear directly from industry thought leaders, but will also get hands-on experience by actively participating in exercises and case studies.”

“Advanced Market Access: Evolving Forces” will explore areas of market access mega-trends, payer business models and financials, and the evolving barriers and drivers of customer organizations. The program will feature the following thought leaders who will discuss pressing industry issues and offer strategies to help develop better business decisions:

  • Jason Gaines, past vice president of corporate development and innovation at Allina Health Group.
  • Jeffrey D. Dunn, PharmD, MBA, vice president, clinical strategy and programs and industry relations, MagellanRx Management.

AJMC® hosted another “Market Access: Behind the Scenes” workshop in June. This widely successful program featured the same faculty as the new “Evolving Forces” program, with the addition of Joseph Manganelli, PharmD, Senior Director of Pharmacy and Chief Medical Director, Montefiore Care Management Network, and Maria Lopes, MD, MS, chief medical officer, CDMI/Magellan. The expert faculty members offered insight on market trends and briefly discussed strategies to improve pharmacy management and better understand customer decisions and buying patterns.
