The Cannery Completes Sales at Two Neighborhoods, Breaks Ground and Prepares for Sales Release at Final Collection of Unique Single-Story Residences

Heirloom and Beech are now sold out and construction begins on Gala, a neighborhood of 120 single-story flats and the last for-sale homes to be built in California’s first farm-to-table new home community in Davis

DAVIS, Calif.--()--Two of the initial neighborhoods at The Cannery have sold out and ground has been broken for a new collection of residences within California’s first farm-to-table-community new home community in the heart of Davis, Calif.

Heirloom by The New Home Company (NEW HOME), a neighborhood of 72 row townhomes, and Beech by CalAtlantic Homes, featuring 72 court homes, recently completed sales.

Now construction is underway on Gala by NEW HOME, a collection of 120 single-story, elevator-served flats that will be the final for-sale neighborhood to be built within The Cannery. As construction progresses at Gala and before model homes are completed, NEW HOME will launch a pre-opening sales campaign in late September with prices anticipated to begin in the mid $400,000s. A Model Home Grand Opening for Gala is expected in summer 2018.

Designed by Robert Hidey Architects, Gala will offer a variety of floorplans featuring 1,191 to 1,995 square feet with two to three bedrooms and two to two and one-half baths. Each residence features a private deck and offers direct access to a ground floor garage. Forty-eight of the flats are located within the southwestern part of the community along The Cannery Loop Trail. The remaining flats are found in the southern part of The Cannery, near The Amphitheatre and Market Park.

Those interested in Gala are encouraged to visit www.GalaNWHM.com to register and receive updates on community progress, future events and sales opportunities.

Since opening in the summer of 2015, a total of 337 residences have been sold at The Cannery to date. Three of the original neighborhoods remain open and have homes available:

  • Tilton by Shea Homes is comprised of 76 Cottages with up to five bedrooms and three baths, ranging from 1,706 to 3,024 square feet. Tilton is priced from the low $800,000s.
  • Persimmon by Shea Homes is a neighborhood of 44 Bungalows with up to six bedrooms and three baths, ranging from 2,189 to 2,892 square feet. Persimmon, which has six homes remaining including three model homes, is priced from the mid $700,000s.
  • Sage by The New Home Company is a neighborhood of 73 Park Homes with up to six bedrooms and five baths, ranging from 1,943 to 3,702 square feet. Sage is priced from the mid $700,000s.

“The Cannery’s architectural styles and unique community amenities continue to draw attention from a wide range of buyers across California, and we could not be more pleased with the sales progress at all of the neighborhoods,” said Kevin Carson, Northern California President for NEW HOME, master developers of The Cannery. “We’re excited to present a new opportunity to homebuyers with Gala and expect to have success with those looking for the benefits of a turn-key and attainably priced residence in the vibrant community that The Cannery was always envisioned to be.”

The Cannery is an innovative mixed-used community designed with a seven-acre Urban Farm on the former Hunt-Wesson tomato cannery facility near the center of downtown Davis.
